Leslie Suazo has over 12 years of coastal advocacy experience in the public sector. A political science gradate, Leslie has applied her knowledge of governmental processes to secure funding for coastal restoration and other capital constructions projects ranging from $500,000 to $35 Million. Leslie has a demonstrated ability for developing long-term business relationships that have translated in to positive project outcomes and long-term community partnerships. With a focus on coastal restoration projects at the local government level for the last seven years, Leslie is well versed in interfacing with federal and state resource management agencies, including the Louisiana Office of Coastal Protection and Restoration, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as well as non-governmental organizations, major coastal landowners and coastal advocacy groups.
